Tie Dye Mark Wright's 5th wheel camper burns to the ground.

It was quite a mess. His fifth wheel was completely gutted. It was packed full of his stock for the festival, which is all gone. It was a wonder the park didn't go up with it, but through the grace of God, we had had an inch of rain the night before (not predicted or expected) and the trees were still wet.

Asa and I, along with Ben, the park manager (what a guy!), spent several hours shoveling soot and hauling wet clothes to the dumpsters. It needed to be cleaned up enough to close the back door and slide out, so they could haul it away, which a salvage company did on Saturday. He still had his truck and covered trailer which is also full of inventory. He did manage to save a lot of dyes and assorted things but for the most part, lost most of his life's possessions. In the many conversations we've had with him, we've gleaned that he doesn't hurt for money and as a matter of fact, the firemen managed to salvage a lot of cash from the fire. And if you know Mark, you know that this is not the worst thing to befall him, nor will it be the last of his life's "little" catastrophes. He seems to be very good at rolling with life's punches and "picking up the pieces". He left the park on Sunday afternoon and was in good spirits when last we saw him, although possibly still in shock. Unfortunately we don't know where to find him at the moment, but he was talking about finding another festival to try to recoup some of his losses. Tara and Rich were there in the campground when the fire started, so would have more details than I do about how it happened. And they may know more about where he went from there, and what his plans are.

I know there are others in the music community that are wanting to do something. Ron Johnson was wondering if we should get together a benefit concert for him. Unfortunately, we will be heading north shortly, so won't be able to help much.

Mostly, we're just keeping him in our prayers, but let us know if someone puts something together for him.
