The Will McLean Foundation’s Sunday Sampler Concert Series is pleased to offer music lovers the opportunity of being entertained by AMY CAROL WEBB on November 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the historic Dunnellon Depot, 12061 S. Williams St., Dunnellon, FL. $10
12061 Williams St
Named one of South Florida’s “Ten Best Folk Singers of All Time” in 2013, an "Act to Watch" by Billboard magazine and "One to watch in the next millennium" by the Miami Herald - the sole songwriter among noted philanthropists, activists, and cultural visionaries - Amy Carol Webb is passionate and poignant, the girl next door and no ordinary woman. Born into an eclectic musical family in Oklahoma, Amy made her way down the winding highways of the traveling troubadour through 48 states, Canada, Mexico and Japan, took time out to birth two sons, then returned to performing full-force in 1995.
Amy is no stranger to the Sunday Sampler where she has wowed the audience for years with her commanding stage presence, her powerful voice, her ability on guitar and her talent for writing songs. You may know her as a Miami Herald “One to Watch,” a Billboard “Act to Watch” and New Times “Best Solo Artist.” Some have called her “the queen of Florida music.” To the Will McLean Foundation she is a friend, who leads a workshop to “empower your voice” and performs on stage at the Will McLean Festival.
She is known as the ”song weaver” because of her ability to weave memorable songs from virtually anything – from a magazine article (“These Are My Own”), an email making the rounds (“Let Me Sing for the Baby”), the plight of the sea turtles (“Turtle Tears”), her Oklahoma heritage (“I Come From Women”). Her songs run the gamut from laugh out-loud funny (“Country Breakfast”) to poignant (“Long Goodbye”) to haunting (“Can You Wait”). She warns us of making friends with a song writer, lest you end up in a song.
As wonderful and unique as Amy’s songs are, you would be missing a truly amazing experience if you only listened to them. Once you see Amy Carol Webb perform in person, you never want to miss an opportunity to see her again. She is the consummate performer.
Donation is $10 at the door. Refreshments are served at the intermission.
