An evening of excellent original music!
The White Springs Folk Club is back and we’re kicking off the 2017-18 season with our perennial favorite season opener, Larry Mangum’s Songwriter Circle. Larry is the anchor of the ever changing, never repeating circle format. This September’s Songwriters Circle features Larry along with two of Florida’s most talented singer/songwriters, Elaine Mahon and Neil Dixon.
The Artists (in a nutshell)
LARRY MANGUM is a favorite of the Folk Club audience. Larry’s songwriting skills and his God-given warm and mellow voice, along with his friendly “I’ve know this guy all my life” stage presence and his high performance skills, have given him the spotlight and longevity that eludes many “folk singers” and if you know Florida folk music, you know why. He’s simply the best!

ELAINE MAHON Her writing explores several recurring themes: the resilience of the human spirit, the power of hope, the wonder of life and a profound appreciation of our place in the natural world. Throughout her songs, whether of birth, death struggle or survival, Mahon weaves the golden threads of hope and wonder.

NEIL DIXON is a singer/songwriter that has been writing and performing music for over 30 years. He began his musical career in the early 1970's. Having been influenced by songwriters like John Prine and Steve Goodman, he began writing music and performing his songs throughout the Southeast. His unique style and unforgettable voice has been a staple in the Jacksonville music scene for years. Having opened for such big name acts like Leon Russell, Edgar Winter, Bruce Hornsby, The Drifters, Gene Watson, and Ernest Tubb & The Texas Troubadours, Neil's stage personality keeps audiences smiling and his music truly represents American songwriting at it's best.
