THUMBZILLA - Benefit for Jak Kelly- July 27th, 28th, 29th, 2012
 

A Special Benefit Music Festival will be held to help Mr. Jak Kelly, a prominent folk singer/songwriter, now living in Spring Hill, FL. who has recently undergone surgery, pay his medical expenses.

Friends of Jak Kelly will be hosting a live music festival on July 27th, 28th and 29th, 2012 at The Farm, 19234 Lake Lindsey Rd., Brooksville, FL 34601. What started as a small benefit to help out a friend in need has blown into a concert of epic proportions. Over 35 of the finest Folk musicians from all across Florida have agreed to participate in this fund-raiser. We are calling it THUMBZILLA, in honor of the lost appendage that has side-tracked Jak.

Angels.

In my long life I thought I’d met just a couple angels,

I guess I was wrong

You all here together at one time proves it.

I am blessed.

When I had my accident, I was at the lowest point in my life.

I couldn’t work, I couldn’t even tie my shoes or button my fly.

You go through life taking a little thing like a thumb for granted.

And if you are unfortunate enough to lose part of one you are forced to

Re-learn how to do just about everything,

Well, my shoes are tied, my fly is buttoned.

My next and biggest challenge is to figure out how I can

Play my music again. And I will!

I am totally blown away by this gathering of angels.

I never knew I’d made so many friends!

Who’d a thunk it?

I thank you more than my words can express.
